Sarawak wants more Petronas jobs

KUCHING: The Sarawak state government needs Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) to assign more oil and gas (O&G) contracts to Sarawak-based organizations. 

Boss Minister Datuk Amar Johari Tun Openg (pic) said state experts might want Sarawak organizations to take an interest effectively in the O&G business in both upstream and downstream exercises, especially in Sarawak waters. 

Johari said he had made such demand to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Petronas' senior authorities in their gatherings, including that there were a great deal of occupations in the O&G upstream and downstream areas which could be performed by Sarawak firms. 

"I have demonstrated to Petronas that we will get Sarawak organizations to go for peripheral oil ventures for them to pick up understanding," he included when directing OceanMight Sdn Bhd's point of reference accomplishment of one million worker hours without lost time because of wounds.

Repsol VP/nation chief Malaysia Rob Mills said the Kinabalu redevelopment venture would include the development of a 3,700-ton wellhead riser stage and 350-ton connect that would interface the new offices to the current Kinabalu stage. 

"The establishment works will begin in the second quarter (2017) and appointing in the second from last quarter," he included.
